End Of Summer Song - Beatrix Potter in Perthshire
END OF SUMMER SONG: BEATRIX POTTER IN PERTHSHIRE
Queen's Jubilee production commissioned by Dunkeld Community Archive.
✨️ ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY telling the story of Beatrix Potter's precious and influential time in Perthshire.
And with some very special cameo appearances from those characters we know and love.
Every October, a young Beatrix Potter is sad to leave the family’s Highland Perthshire idyll, and return to London. For four months each year she has been immersed in nature and local folk tales.
This comes to an abrupt halt, the year she is 16. Other losses soon follow. A decade later she returns for two summers, now a published illustrator and a promising mycologist.
In three remarkable days she makes a worthy scientific contribution, and writes the first drafts of the Peter Rabbit and Jeremy Fisher books. And the rest is history...

Saturday 4th JUNE 2022 at 7pm in Birnam Arts Centre - A new production around Beatrix Potter and her characters
Written by Tom McEwan Directed by Lesley Whitwood
It would be brilliant if anyone would like to be involved: with set, costume, stage management, tech, rehearsals and show prompt.
Beatrix Potter is aimed to be a large cast production, involving young people and hopefully music too!
Again, as well as developing this cast, we would love to have a great crew to create the stage production with set, costume, tech and stage management. The backstage team is the most vital part of any amdram group of course. Rehearsals start in March 2022 with the initial read through on Monday 14th March at 7pm in Birnam Arts.
Please get in touch on Facebook or Messenger @birnamtheatre or through the contact page on this site if you're able to join in.
Thanks.
